Why a bird house?

Bird houses bring life to any backyard. They add a unique touch to your trees and provide nesting places to the native birds of your region. Creating homes for birds in your garden or backyard is an easy way for you to get closer to nature by helping the birds where you live, such as purple martins, blue jays, swallows, finches, chickadees, wrens and many more. We have a great selection of many types of bird houses, such as decorative bird houses, wooden bird houses, country bird houses and unique and holiday birdhouses. And if you're adventurous, you can even build your own!

Lone Star Bird Houses is located in Austin, Texas. We created this website so that anyone can get outside (or even look outside your window, if you're unable to go outside) a little each day and just enjoy the wildlife. We sometimes forget that the birds we see in our backyard are in fact wildlife, but they are! It's not practical for everyone to go on a safari in Africa to photograph exotic animals, but anyone can watch a finch fly into a bird house with nesting material or feed a robin. You would be surprised how good you can feel after spending some time under a tree or on your patio listening to and watching the birds.
